Welcome to SurfSide House! We’re so glad you chose to stay with us at Dodges Ferry.

The house has ocean views from the kitchen, dining and living spaces, and the beach is reached from the rear of the yard. In this welcome book you will find everything you need to know about the house and our favourite local spots.

Free parking for 2 cars in the carport (maximum height 2.2 m), with room for a boat or trailer. Street parking is also available for 2 cars plus along the street boundary. Parking is for guests only.

• Stairs and levels: SurfSide House has two levels joined by stairs. The main front door is reached by a ramp and opens onto a mid-level landing. The green door beside the carport gives level access to the bedroom level.
• Beach access: the beach is reached from the rear of the yard by a ramp. The ramp has no railings, so please take care, especially with children.
• Hot tub and fire pit: the wood-fired hot tub and the fire pit are in the rear yard. Never leave a fire unattended and keep children away.
• Water and septic: the house runs on filtered tank water and a septic system. Please only flush toilet paper and do not put wipes, nappies or sanitary items down the toilet.
• Locked areas: the separate garage building, the private room downstairs and the cupboard in the upstairs kitchen area are locked and not for guest use.
• No pets are allowed at SurfSide House.

SurfSide House is a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom home on two levels that sleeps up to 6. The bedrooms are on the ground level.

• Bedroom 1 (main): 1 queen bed, with an ensuite and a walk-in robe.
• Bedroom 2: 1 queen bed.
• Bedroom 3: 1 king single bed and a trundle.

Bathrooms: Bathroom 1 is the ensuite off the main bedroom (shower). Bathroom 2 is a full bathroom off the rear lobby between bedrooms 2 and 3 (shower, twin sinks). Bathroom 3 is a toilet upstairs.

Linen and towels: every bed is made up with a bottom sheet, top sheet, quilt cover and pillow slips. One bath towel per guest is provided, plus hand towels and face washers. A beach or pool towel is not provided. Extra pillows and blankets, hangers and a clothes drying rack are available, and bedrooms have mosquito nets and blockout blinds.

The kitchen, dining room and living spaces are upstairs and have ocean views.

• Appliances: a large upright fridge with filtered water, a separate upright freezer, electric cooktop, oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and kettle.
• Coffee: a Nescafe pod machine, with coffee supplied.
• Cookware: pots, pans, baking trays, dishes, cutlery, utensils, wine glasses and BBQ utensils. Pantry basics are provided.
• Dining: a dining table seats 6.

Please load and start the dishwasher before you leave.

• Living room: ocean views, seating for 6 and more, and a 75" smart TV with all the usual streaming apps, plus a soundbar and subwoofer.
• Second living space: off the kitchen, with a wood fireplace and seating for 5 or more. Firewood is provided and stored under the carport. Firelighters and a lighter are kept around the indoor fireplace and kitchen area.
• Pinball: a Queen pinball machine on free play.
• Games and books: board games, books and children’s books and toys.
• Outdoors: a covered deck and patio, balcony, veranda, lawn and landscaped garden, outdoor dining, sun loungers, a flat-plate BBQ (a full spare gas bottle is kept under the BBQ), and a fire pit and wood-fired hot tub in the rear yard.
• Hot tub: the wood-fired hot tub fits 2 people, is private to guests, is not heated all year and has no lockable cover. If you would like a hand getting it going, call WTP on 0466 333 833.

There is an electric height-adjustable desk with an ocean view, a chair and a monitor with an HDMI cable. NBN Wi-Fi reaches every room.

• Heating and cooling: split-system reverse-cycle air conditioning in each bedroom and in both upstairs living spaces, each with its own controls in the room. Ceiling fans too.
• Wi-Fi: NBN internet (about 100 Mbps) that reaches every room. The network name and password are in your private manual once your booking is confirmed. The modem is on a small shelf in the laundry area. If you need to restart it, unplug it, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in.
• Laundry: a washing machine and dryer in the laundry space on the ground level.
• Clothesline: a pull-out line under the carport.
• Iron and board: in the walk-in robe of the main bedroom.
• Vacuum and cleaning gear: rechargeable stick vacuums near the upstairs kitchen and near the downstairs laundry, with more cleaning gear in the kitchen and laundry areas.
• Spare supplies: spare amenities are in the bathrooms. If you run out of anything, call us.

• For little ones: a highchair is stored in the upstairs toilet, and there is 1 portable cot. A changing table is available on request. Babysitter recommendations are available on request.
• Mid-stay clean: available for longer stays, $330 per clean, including fresh sheets and towels.
• Late check-in or check-out: ask us and we will confirm if it is possible.

There is a bin in the kitchen area and small bins near the toilets. The outside bins are kept near the garage.

• Bin day: Thursday.
• Bin night: Wednesday evening. Please put the red and yellow bins out to the street, leave room for the garbage truck, and bring them back in on Thursday afternoon.
• Leave any empty bins where they are. If you would like us to put the bins out for you, reply to our bin day message (the optional service is $60).

• Check-in from 3:00 pm, check-out by 10:00 am.
• Guests: up to 6 in total, children and infants welcome. The booking guest must be 18 or over.
• Quiet hours: 10 pm to 8 am.
• No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property.
• No parties or events.
• Visitors: only the guests on your booking may stay.
• No pets.
